    Doug Sakmann is an award-winning SPFX Artist living in Philadelphia, PA. Originally from Queens, NY, Doug has been creating monsters and horrific blood & gore FX for all types of projects around the world for over twenty years. Sakmann is also an accomplished producer and director, having produced over forty-five feature films as well as many TV projects, music videos, short films & commercials. 

    Sakmann is the maniac behind ‘Punk Rock Holocaust’, the live concert/horror- comedy series based on the Vans Warped Tour (, and producer and actor for Troma Entertainment - creators of ‘The Toxic Avenger’ and ‘Class of Nuke Em High’. Doug has been portraying the company’s flagship character Sgt. Kabukiman N.Y.P.D for the last 20 years. Kabukiman hosts his own variety show - ‘Kabukiman’s Cocktail Corner’ on the Troma Movies network and Sakmann is currently developing a sequel to the original movie -’Kabukiman Returns’. In line with his deep Troma history, Doug co-produced and created SPFX for Troma’s latest movie directed by studio head Lloyd Kaufman - ‘Shakespeare’s Shitstorm’ - a Tromatic take on Shakespeare's final stage play ‘The Tempest’ which is playing at film festivals around the world to rave reviews 

    Doug is also the founder of the NYC Zombie Crawl, an organization that sets up zombie themed events in the NY Area as well as provide zombie SFX makeup for movies, TV & nationally touring acts. Clients include Sony Pictures, AMC, The Walking Dead, Sega, the Tribeca Film Festival, NBC, Bravo Networks, the Travel Channel & many more. 

    Most recently, Sakmann is working as Art Director on Netflix’s reboot of the true-crime show ‘Unsolved Mysteries’ and also directed the latest music video for death metal band Cannibal Corpse, ‘Red Before Black’.
